Asymmetric Synthesis Using Organometallic Reagents and Optically Pure Vinylic Sulfoxides
A new, general method is developed for preparation of various 3-substituted carbonyl compounds of very high optical purity. Application of this method is made to asymmetric synthesis of either enantiomer of 3—methylalkanoic acids, of optically pure 3-methylcyclopentanone, 3—methylcyclohexanone, 3-naphthylcyclopentanone and 3-vinylcyclopentanone j. 9,11-Seco steroid and steroid intermediate are ...
متن کاملCatalytic, oxidant-free, direct olefination of alcohols using Wittig reagents.
Reported here is the catalytic, acceptorless coupling of alcohols with in situ generated, non-stabilized phosphonium ylides to form olefins as major products. The reaction uses low catalyst loadings and does not require added oxidants. Hydrogenation of the product is minimized and the reaction leads to Z (aliphatic) or E (benzylic) stereospecificity.
متن کاملA simple asymmetric organocatalytic approach to optically active cyclohexenones.
Optically active 2,5-disubstituted-cyclohexen-2-one derivatives have been prepared in a one-pot process consisting of five reaction steps: an organocatalytic asymmetric conjugated addition of beta-ketoesters to alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes that proceeds in aqueous solutions or under solvent-free conditions has been implemented in a multi-step process.

LLE Review, Volume 143 167 Introduction Room-temperature nanodevices based on quantum confinement and/or ballistic nonlinearities are intrinsic nanostructures, not simply scaled-down conventional circuitry, and are gaining wide-spread research attention. Among the nanodevices, one of the most popular is the asymmetric nanochannel diode (ANCD), also referred to as a self-switching diode (SSD), f...
متن کاملCatalytic asymmetric alkylation of ketones using organometallic reagents.
The catalytic asymmetric synthesis of tertiary alcohols by the addition of organometallic reagents to ketones is of central importance in organic chemistry. The resulting quaternary stereocentres are difficult to prepare selectively by other means despite their widespread occurrence in natural products and pharmaceuticals. Over the past few years, several seminal reports on the formation of chi...
